Solid 3-stars.The writing was better in this book and the overall story is interesting. I liked it. I didn't love it. There are still quite a few low points for me. The dialogue isn't great. It doesn't add anything to the story or relationships. Mac is tollerable at this point. Her character is still annoying at times. Why is the female always illogical and emotional? She is stronger though making her internal monologues more bearable (although I admittedly skim most of them still).V'lane is pervy (I can't believe anyone find his character attractive, including Mac). He is really creepy and if he becomes a romantic interest at any point...automatic 1-star deduction for stupidity by Mac and the author.Barron is probably the real reason the story is still compelling. He is an interesting mystery and his obvious attraction to Mac and jealous tendencies towards her suitors are a nice addition. I do prefer romance novels, so I was waiting for this and that kiss, whew!Ready for the next installment.
